1. So this book is about adventure and helping other. Explain how the characters help one another.
2. Consider a person taking complete control over your home area that didn't belong there. How would you react? How would you feel?
3. How can you relate Smaug's taking over of the dwarven city to humanity's history? Are there any similarities that apply to many events?
The characters help each other by supporting and defending one another throughout their journey to Smaug. I would feel upset and offended if someone tried to take control of my home, and I'm sure many people in my community would want to fight back. Smaug's taking over of the dwarven city is almost similar to the Spanish conquistadors of the early 1600s - 1700s. Indigenous peoples were forced to comply to Spain and work as slaves until they won independence.
ReplyDelete1. They all need the support from each other in order to survive the adventure.
ReplyDelete2. I'd react with anger and feel down about it because I'd be homeless and no survivor gear to be able to live, stay healthy, and much less meals to eat.
3. Smaug is related to a little bit of Spanish.
